I got into art and design probably as early as middle school. I would create very crude paintovers of the character shots from QuakeIII. I was tremendously interested in figuring out how to get my creations onto the characters themselves during gameplay. I never figured out how until I started attending college a number of years later. I spent several years trying to figure out what I should go to school for and never imagined it would be for anything in the art field. I considered programming. No way will I make that mistake again. I have tremendous respect for those that can look at, create, decipher, and debug code in any form. For me it puts me in a mini-coma. Following programming I considered creating jewelry but couldn't see it being particularly profitable nor enjoyable. I was incredibly interested in video games and their graphics, but never dreams I could produce anything that looked remotely appealing. I sketched and doodled in my spare time. I followed online instructions with little luck until I stumbled upon Kristen "Merekat" Perry's website. Her tutorials about painting in Photoshop and creating perspective in Illustrator would be the foundation I built my artistic knowledge. I thank the world for helpful mentors such as Merekat.

I am currently in my final semester at Briarcliffe College. I will graduate in May 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art. I have learned a lot since the time I started and now, and I plan on learning quiet a bit more. My goal is still to be part of the awe-inspiring world of video game graphics, but it has expanded to painting bookcovers and posters as well.
